  28.  
  29. The programm only consists out of the program file 'RTTY', the icon 'RTTY.info'
  30. and the konfig-file 'Funkeytext.rtty'. You have to copy all these files into
  31. one drawer.

  33. You can write your private texts on the function-keys. Every enter can have
  34. up to 255 letters, every enter ends with '#'. You can config 20 keys (use 
  35. shift - functionkey for ten more).
  36.  
  37. (Note for people using HD-Controller from Kronos:
  38. For correct work with RTTY in Multitask you must disable the IRQ of any
  39. partition-task. For this you must edit the devsetup file and then run set-
  40. autoboot. When you have problems, you can contact me.)

  43. 2. Connection
  44.  
  45. You will need a 25 - pin D - Sub - plug for the RS - 232 port and 
  46. a shirmed cable with three wires.
  47. Connection is as follows:
  48.  
  49.     Pin 7  = Ground
  50.     Pin 6  = RXData
  51.     Pin 20 = TXData
  52.     Pin 4  = PTT
  53.  
  54. Attention: there are +/- 12 Volt on this port!
  55.  
  56. The programm needs a normal converter and afsk-generator, like that from
  57. DJ6HP.

  60. 3. How to start
  61.  
  62. You can start with dubbleclick from workbench or from CLI with "RTTY".
  63.  
  64. Two windows will be opened, the upper shows RXData, the lower you can type
  65. what you want to send.
  66. The program now receives with 45.45 baud in rtty - mode.
  67.  
  68. When you write a text, you can send it with pressing the key 'Help'. 
  69. During transmission you can write further, it will be transmitted so long,
  70. as you press again 'Help' or there is the sign '~' in the text. This sign
  71. lets rtty switch automatically to receive.

  75. 4. Pull-down-menues
  76.  
  77. There are five menues:
  78.  
  79. Menu File: load, save or print the text of the actually window,
  80.            and quit program.
  81. Please note: you can save or print both: the text of the receive-window 
  82. and the text of the transmitter-window. You have to activate the window
  83. first, then you start the action.
  84. Please note also, that you need a devs: directory with the printer-device,
  85. if you want to print something.

  88. Menu Mode: Mode - select (RTTY Baudot, ASCII oder Amtor)
  89.  
  90. Menu Baud: Here you select your baudrate.
  91.  
  92. All selected items are shown with the checkmark.
  93.  
  94. Menu Transmitter: (QRM - Flag, Diddle, Reverse, Beginsend)
  95. The QRM-Flag makes your output better. The transmitter repeats the information
  96. for letters or figures after every space. So in QRM this is very useful to
  97. inform the receiver about the correct mode.
  98. If you select beginsend, you can send all the text in the transmitter-window
  99. again.
  100. With reverse, only the transmitter sends reverse. Receiving will be normal.

  102. Menu Extras:
  103. "Erase all" erases the transmit-window.If Standby is selected, you can erase
  104.             the text in the receive-window, if this window is active. 
  105. "Standby"   switches off receiving. Then you can edit the text in the receiver-
  106.             window. Selecting Standby again returns to receive-mode.
  107. "Help"      shows short instruction.

  110. 5. Functionkeys and 'Short - Cuts'
  111.  
  112. All functionkeys can be put up with your texts. See installation to config
  113. your texts, also look to the file funkeytext.rtty for more information.

  115. All important pull - down - menus are reachable with shortcuts. 
  116. Press the right Amiga - key together with the key shown in the pull-down-menu.

  119. 6. Functions of the editor
  120.  
  121. CTRL = Control - Key
  122.  
  123. CTRL - B: Deletes the line, where the cursor is
  124. CTRL - O: toggles between insert or overwrite-mode. 
  125.           overwrite is selected when the program starts.
  126. CTRL - T: switches tab-mode on-off.
  127.            tap-mode is off when you start.
  128. CTRL - X: cursor on the top of the text.
  129. CTRL - Y: cursor on the end.

  132. 7. Monitorwindow
  133.  
  134. On the top there is a little window. All TXData are shown in scrolltext there.
  135.  'ยป' is a carriage-return with linefeed.

  138. 8. Switching letters <-> figures during receive
  139.  
  140. With the tab-key you can switch between letters and figures during receive.
  141. So in QRM you can get more information.
